University of Colorado Medicine is the business and administrative arm of UC-affiliated clinics and supports over 3,000 healthcare providers.
CU Medicine's web presence had been built to inform users of their administrative capabilities and patient-service functions were minimal. All patient appointment scheduling, contact information and more was buried or lived on the CU Medicine-affiliated clinic microsites.
Our objective for the new website was to consolidate their clinic microsites into a single patient-service focused site for users to easily find the care they need by researching providers, searching for clinic locations, scheduling appointments and more.
We also needed to differentiate the CU Medicine-affiliated clinics from similarly named, competing and partner organizations in the region.
A challenge that stood out in this project was content management. Most provider, location, specialty and service data was already being managed by other departments within the university. Zehnder worked with the client's in-house IT team to build an API service and import the consolidated data into the new CU Med site.
Cumedicine.us was built with Sitefinity CMS. I was responsible for product management, UX/UI design management and information architecture.
